School Advisory Council
Serving our mission together.
The School Advisory Council is a consultative body that provides strategic counsel to the Pastor and Principal of Saint Joseph Catholic School, supporting our Catholic identity, mission, and long-term success. The Council does not oversee school administration or daily operations. In major matters affecting the school, the Pastor and Principal consult the Council before making decisions, and final authority remains with the Pastor and Principal.

Meetings & How to Attend
The Council meets monthly, typically on the fourth Tuesday of the month. If a school conflict arises, the meeting moves to a later date. Meetings are typically open to families and community members.
Attend a meeting: Email the SAC to confirm the date, time, and location.
Request agenda time: To make a presentation, contact the Principal or SAC Chair at least 48 hours before the meeting.
Plan your remarks: Presentations are limited to 10 minutes.
SAC and Home & School
The School Advisory Council and the Home & School Association serve different but complementary roles. The SAC offers strategic counsel to the Pastor and Principal. The Home & School Association is the primary way parents serve the school, through volunteering, fundraising, and parent education. The SAC works with the Principal and Home & School officers to understand parent needs and concerns, and a Home & School representative attends SAC meetings.
How Members Serve
Members serve staggered three-year terms that run from July 1 through June 30. Each spring, the Council recommends candidates to fill openings, and appointments are approved by the Pastor and Principal.
